Day One - July 13, 2009
July 14, 2009 by Beth
This is the first day of my 21 Day makeover - My weight today was 162.8 and my goal weight is 140. I have a little ways to go. My husband and I worked out for a little over an hour doing Advanced General Conditioning where we worked the back, shoulders, arms and trunk. We also have a couple of exercises that we do every day. Every day we do the reverse ab crunch (3 sets of 15) and the ab crunch on the BowFlex (4 sets of 25) - Teresa had us doing at least 50, sometimes 100 crunches on the stability ball so we do the ab crunches and the reverse crunches every day. We also do the triceps pushdown (for the wings) and the Bench Press or Chest Fly.
One of the things we started doing was tracking and writing down what we eat for each meal and snacks and when we eat them. We are eating at least every 3 hours or so to keep the metabolism burning more of the calories we eat for fuel and storing less of them as fat.
From what we understand, the key to lasting weight loss is to learn how to eat real food in a way that helps you lose weight. This is what the 21-Day Makeover is all about. Eating real food and exercising and making this a life long habit.
